PLASTIC POLLUTION The excessive use and improper disposal of plastic have resulted in widespread plastic pollution in oceans, rivers, and landfills. It poses a severe threat to marine life, ecosystems, and human health . The name ‘plastic’, comes from the Greek plastikos, meaning capable of being shaped or moulded. Yet the material which seemed to offer so much because it is flexible is now plaguing the planet with its permanence.
